This service (AstroReading) is operated from Norway. For any privacy-related inquiries, contact us at hello@getastroreading.com.
We collect: your first name; email address; date, time, and place of birth; payment information (processed by our payment provider — we never see or store card details); your cookie consent decision and language preference. If you accept analytics on our cookie banner, anonymized usage data is also collected (see Section 10).
Name and email — for order fulfillment, dossier delivery, and support communication (legal basis: contract performance, Art. 6(1)(b)). Birth data — for generation of your personalized astrological dossier (contract performance, Art. 6(1)(b)). Payment information — to process your payment (contract performance, Art. 6(1)(b)). Cookie and locale preference — to remember your settings (consent, Art. 6(1)(a)).
Your birth data is processed transiently: it is used to calculate your chart and compose your dossier, and is not stored in any database of ours afterward. We do not keep a copy of your dossier — the only copy is the PDF delivered to your inbox. Your email address remains on our delivery list (managed by Resend) until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Order and payment records are held by our payment provider under its own legal retention obligations. Support correspondence is kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Cookie consent decision: 180 days. Language preference: 365 days.
We share personal data only with the service providers that operate this service, each under GDPR-compliant terms: Anthropic — composes the interpretive text of your dossier from your chart data; your data is not used to train their models. Resend — delivers your dossier and our emails, and maintains our subscriber list. Railway — runs our composition engine; data passes through transiently and is not stored. LemonSqueezy — payment processing, acting as merchant of record. Vercel — website hosting. Cloudflare — DNS and security. Microsoft Clarity — anonymized usage analytics, loaded only if you accept on the cookie banner. We never sell your data and never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Some subprocessors may process your data outside the EEA. For such transfers we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or transfers to countries with adequacy decisions (UK, Switzerland). Where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework also applies.
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the following rights: access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), objection (Art. 21), and withdrawal of consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact hello@getastroreading.com. We respond within 30 days.
If you believe your rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) at https://www.datatilsynet.no/en/, or with your local data protection authority in your country of residence.
Your dossier is produced in two steps. The astronomical layer — planetary positions, houses, aspects — is calculated by deterministic, rule-based algorithms (PyEphem; the VSOP87 and ELP-2000 theories). The interpretive text is then composed with the assistance of a large language model (Anthropic's Claude) and reviewed under our editorial method. No profiling and no automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects (Art. 22 GDPR) takes place.
We set two first-party cookies: (1) preferred_locale — remembers your language. Lifetime: 365 days; Secure, SameSite=Lax. (2) astroreading_cookie_consent — remembers your consent decision. Lifetime: 180 days; Secure, SameSite=Lax. If you choose Accept on our cookie banner, we additionally load Microsoft Clarity, an analytics tool that helps us understand anonymized site usage; Clarity sets its own cookies (such as _clck and _clsk). If you decline, no analytics run. We use no advertising cookies.
Our service is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, contact hello@getastroreading.com for immediate deletion.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to active customers. Last updated: July 2026.
