This service (AstroReading) is operated from Norway. For any privacy-related inquiries, contact us at hello@getastroreading.com.
We collect: your first name; email address; date, time, and place of birth; the language you use on the site; where your visit came from (utm tags, the referring site and the page you landed on), saved with your birth-data draft; after payment, the order number, email and product that ClickBank passes to us (card and payment details stay with ClickBank — we never see or store them); your cookie consent decision and language preference. Our server uses your IP address only to limit how many requests can be sent per hour; it is not saved in our database. Our hosting providers (Railway, Vercel) keep their own request logs, which can include it. If you accept analytics on our cookie banner, Microsoft Clarity also records how the site is used (see Section 10). When you type a birthplace into the form, your browser sends that place name to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to look up its coordinates; the request goes from your browser, not from us.
Name and email — for order fulfillment, dossier delivery, and support communication (legal basis: contract performance, Art. 6(1)(b)). Birth data — for generation of your personalized astrological dossier (contract performance, Art. 6(1)(b)). Order number and product — to match your payment to your order (contract performance, Art. 6(1)(b)). Where your visit came from and your IP address — to see which pages bring visitors and to protect the service from abuse (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)). Clarity analytics — only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Cookie and locale preference — to remember your settings (consent, Art. 6(1)(a)).
Your birth details live on our own server only as long as we need them. The draft you fill in before checkout — email, first name, date, time and place of birth, language and where your visit came from — is kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically; after that it can no longer be matched to a purchase. Once you buy, the order record — ClickBank order number, email, birth details and order status — is kept for 24 months from the purchase date and then deleted automatically; to have it deleted sooner, write to hello@getastroreading.com. Our server checks every hour for records past these limits. We keep no copy of your finished dossier: the PDF is only sent to you by email. If you asked for the free reading (sent as The Venus Letter) or signed up for our emails yourself, your email address and first name stay on our mailing list at Resend until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them; buyers are not added to that list. For the limit of one free reading per day, and for our list of unsubscribed addresses, we keep a hash of your email address: the limit marker for up to 2 days, the unsubscribe marker for as long as your unsubscribe stands, so that we don't write to you again. Payment and accounting records are held by ClickBank, the retailer, under its own rules. Cookie consent decision: 180 days. Language preference: 365 days.
We share personal data only with the providers that run this service, each under GDPR-compliant terms. Anthropic — receives the calculated chart to write your text, plus your first name (Pattern Breaker, Soul Archive) or your age (Future Lover Sketch); it never receives your birth date, birthplace, coordinates or email, and your data is not used to train its models. Resend — sends our emails, including the one that carries your dossier; its mailing list holds only people who asked for the free reading or signed up themselves — buyers are not added. Railway — hosts our server and the small database described in Section 4. ClickBank (Click Sales, Inc., USA) — the retailer; it processes the payment, and from it we keep only the order number, your email and the product. When you pay, your name and email are passed to ClickBank to fill in the checkout form. OpenStreetMap Nominatim — receives the birthplace name you type, sent directly from your browser, to look up its coordinates. Vercel — website hosting. Cloudflare — DNS and security. Microsoft Clarity — usage analytics (such as pages viewed, clicks and scrolling), loaded only if you accept on the cookie banner; the fields of our forms and the parts of pages that show your name, email or birth details are masked from it, and it is not loaded on the page you reach after payment. We never sell your data and never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Some subprocessors may process your data outside the EEA. For such transfers we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or transfers to countries with adequacy decisions (UK, Switzerland). Where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework also applies.
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the following rights: access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), objection (Art. 21), and withdrawal of consent at any time. To exercise any of them, write to hello@getastroreading.com from the address you used, or tell us which address to look up. For erasure we delete, by hand, your pre-checkout drafts, your order records and the reminder rows attached to them, and we remove your contact from our mailing list at Resend if it is on it. We respond within 30 days.
If you believe your rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) at https://www.datatilsynet.no/en/, or with your local data protection authority in your country of residence.
Your dossier is produced in two steps. The astronomical layer — planetary positions, houses, aspects — is calculated by deterministic, rule-based algorithms (PyEphem; the VSOP87 and ELP-2000 theories). The interpretive text is then composed with the assistance of a large language model (Anthropic's Claude) and checked automatically for chart accuracy and consistency. No profiling and no automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects (Art. 22 GDPR) takes place.
We set two first-party cookies: (1) preferred_locale — remembers your language. Lifetime: 365 days; Secure, SameSite=Lax. (2) astroreading_cookie_consent — remembers your consent decision. Lifetime: 180 days; Secure, SameSite=Lax. If you choose Accept on our cookie banner, we additionally load Microsoft Clarity, an analytics tool that records how pages are used (such as clicks and scrolling), with form fields and personal details masked and never on the page you reach after payment; Clarity sets its own cookies (such as _clck and _clsk). If you decline, no analytics run. We use no advertising cookies.
Our service is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, contact hello@getastroreading.com for immediate deletion.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to active customers. Last updated: September 2026.
